It seems to be based on word play, using the fact that the Hill Tribes people have a Thai accent which shortens their words eg หนุ=หนู ฯลฯ. Oh man, when will the puns ever end... I'm going to wait 'til it comes out on DVD and watch it while eating a big plate of flied lice. I don't think the r/l thing wouldn't have occurred to me, because "Last Fright" sounds like a suitable title for an airplane-related episode of Tales From the Crypt or a shoestring budget horror film. But the fact that it's in an Asian movie makes it all the better (or worse, depending on your point of view).

That segment was directed by Parkpoom Wongpoom, one half of the directing team that brought us Shutter and Alone. The director of 13 เกมสยอง is Chukiat Sakveerakul, who directed รักแห่งสยาม The Love of Siam last year.Rikkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17196282287835224940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6905541471605961414.post-70624920782014664592008-05-17T21:46:00.000+07:002008-05-17T21:46:00.000+07:00This is so weird, because I was just talking about...This is so weird, because I was just talking about the 4bia film to a friend, and saying that it was a pretty lame pun in english because it was built around a mispronounced word. It could take someone a while to figure it out if they weren't familiar with the Thai language.

The reason I was talking about it was that one of the four segments of the film takes place on an airplane and is called "Last Fright," a second pun in english based on common mispronunciations that Thai people might make. Two in the same film! I wish they had been as clever this time around on the English title.

One of my favorite Thai puns was for Citizen Dog, aka Mah Nakhon (หมานคร). I understood that it could be taken different ways, including "Dog City" or "City of Dogs", which relates to the theme in the film of everyone having a metaphorical tail.Wise Kwaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00462741207572023832noreply@blogger.com
